NIE Girona NIE, TIE and padró on the Onyar

Answers for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens

The number, the green certificate, the padró and the cita previa, for people whose passport lets them live and work in Spain.

Our family is moving from Toulouse to Girona. What does each of us do?

After three months, each family member registers on the EX-18, children included, with the papers that show how the household lives. policia.es lists the European procedures at C/ Rajolers 7.

I am Swiss. Is my case any different?

No. A Swiss passport is treated like an EU one for registration, and so are those of Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

I live in Perpignan and work in Figueres. Do I need anything?

A NIE, for the contract and the Seguridad Social, requested on the EX-15, the form for non-residents. Registering as a resident is only for people who live in Spain.

Where do I book the certificado de registro UE in Girona?

On the cita previa pages: Girona as the province, then the trámite for the EU registration certificate. policia.es lists it at C/ Rajolers 7, and at no other unit of the province.

I already have a NIE from buying a flat. Is it replaced?

No. That number goes onto your green certificate as it is.

Does the padró come before the certificate?

Not necessarily, though your padró entry is the plainest record of your address. In Girona the padró is kept by the Ajuntament (Ayuntamiento, in Spanish), at its OAMR offices.

Which door is yours?

Tell us which passport you hold, where in the province you live or will live, and any date already fixed: a contract, a signing, the start of term. We write back with the procedure, the form and the street.
