About us
Who answers your request
NIE Girona is an independent private service for people settling in Girona and across its province. We prepare with you the number, the European registration, the residence card and the padró, and explain the Catalan and the Spanish along the way.
Girona draws people for many reasons: a place at the university, a job in the city, a quieter life inland, a house within sight of the sea. Their procedures are national, but the practical side is local, and here it opens with an unusual fact: the police brigade for foreigners lists its procedures at three different addresses in the city, with more units across the province.
Preparation is what we do: finding which procedure and which address apply to you, filling in the forms together, helping with the 790-012, looking for a cita previa and going through the papers before the day. Tax, inheritance and the wider law of immigration belong to lawyers and advisers, and we tell you when a question is really theirs.
No link ties us to the Generalitat, the Ajuntament de Girona, the Delegación del Gobierno en Cataluña or the Policía Nacional. You remain free to do everything described here directly with the administration, in which case the official fees are your only cost.
How we work, floor by floor
-
The right door before the date
In Girona the procedure decides the street. We match your case to Cristobal Grober, Rajolers, Santa Eugènia or a unit of the province before you book, from what policia.es lists at each.
-
Catalan and Spanish, explained in English
The Ajuntament writes in Catalan, police forms are in Spanish. We explain both, and give you the words you will hear at each counter.
-
An answer for your passport
A student from Bogotá, a retired couple from Utrecht and a British owner near Cadaqués need three different routes. We answer for yours alone.
-
Private, and plain about it
We are an independent service. The police, the Delegación del Gobierno, the Generalitat and the Ajuntament decide; we prepare. You may always do all of it yourself.
NIE Girona is an independent private service. We are not the police, not the Delegación del Gobierno en Cataluña or its Oficina de Extranjería, not the Generalitat de Catalunya and not the Ajuntament de Girona; none of them runs or pays for this site, and we cannot speed up, sway or overturn anything they decide. These pages inform you; they do not replace legal advice. Dealing with the administration directly is always open to you; only the official fees would then be due.
Which door is yours?
Tell us which passport you hold, where in the province you live or will live, and any date already fixed: a contract, a signing, the start of term. We write back with the procedure, the form and the street.
